Instead of the usual weight loss tips that will get rid of your belly fat, today I’m going to give you 5 reasons why you should actually take action (or continue if you’re already on the right track).
Hopefully this will kick start your motivation to take action if you constantly see yourself as the fence sitter always putting off starting the regime that will change, and could possibly save, your life.
So, let’s get straight into it!
#1) Fit Back Into Old Clothes
This one should be a no-brainer. Nothing is more depressing than not being able to fit into your favourite pair of jeans or any item of clothes for that matter.
I know, I’ve been there. Even recently, after my extended break for the honeymoon which rolled into my birthday and then Christmas two days later it seemed I was indulging in a lot more cheat meals than I would normally do and it reflected in my belly fat.
I had to go up a notch with the belt and my old shorts were feeling a bit tighter than usual.
That was motivation enough for me. I hadn’t let myself go completely but even that was a little reminder to get back into action and start eating cleaner sooner rather than later.
Besides, when you do lose your extra baggage, most people don’t normally need to be encouraged to go out on a shopping spree to spend up big on new clothes!
#2) Be An Inspiration To Someone Else
Imagine how good it would feel to be able to be the person that someone close to you can look up to as an example of someone who took action.
You might even be able to convince someone to join you in the mission to burn the belly fat. They’ll be able to pump up your tyres when needed and them you when you’re a little flat.
#3) Increased Waist Measurement Has Higher Link To Heart Disease
The American Heart Association state that it has been scientifically proven that excess body fat – especially around the waist – increases the risk of developing cardiovascular (heart) disease and stroke.
The scary thing is they also mention that this is possible even if there are no other risk factors such as smoking, diabetes, high blood pressure etc.
Not a pretty picture is it?
#4) Stop Your Arteries Looking Like A McDonalds Thickshake
You know what I mean by this right? I’m talking about where you can’t seem to suck anything out through the straw because the drink is so thick.
Well, that’s what it’s like for your blood trying to pump through arteries that are all clogged up because of the foods that cause you to put on your belly fat in the first place when you are obese.
The blood is thick and sluggish and there is reduced room for it to flow through because the arteries are narrowed.
The end result is a total blockage and a heart attack because the ‘straw’ is totally blocked.
Unfortunately you just can’t take off the lid and drink the thickshake without the straw. It’s too late.
#5) You’ll Live Longer
Surely you don’t want the grim reaper to come knocking on your door before you’re ready. In 2010 people should not be dying in their 30′s, 40′s, 50′s even 60′s because of obesity related conditions.
It has to be action time if your belly fat is at high risk levels – i.e. your belly is hanging over your pants. If not now – when?
It’s too late when the man with the pick and hood taps you on the shoulder.
If that doesn’t convince you, think about not living to walk your daughter down the aisle and getting to live long enough to enjoy your grandkids. Surely you don’t want to miss out on that.
It kills me every time I see my little niece that my Dad didn’t live long enough to be around to enjoy her growing up.
