I had a little victory yesterday while we were out a lunch.
It may seem something small but I think it’s just as important to celebrate your small victories as it is to celebrate your big ones.
Whether that be for victories involving healthy meals or just your regular exercise routine.
Otherwise you are heading down a path where the ending isn’t pretty.
We were out for lunch with my mum yesterday at a cafe where the menu was awesome. Seriously, I could’ve destroyed basically anything on that menu like possibly the world’s biggest burger (maybe a slight exaggeration) but it wasn’t one of those ones that you get at Maccas.
That was one option, not to mention the Jambalaya which was a favourite of mine from my travels back in the day to New Orleans. Just seeing that on the menu have me these great flash backs to fun times on bourbon street!
Anyway, I ended up going for a grilled chicken pumpkin, beetroot and feta salad with a walnut vinegar dressing.
Man it was awesome.
So no regrets on making the smart choice to eat healthy even though the other stuff looked really tempting.
That was my little celebration to sticking to my healthy meals game plan. I’d used up my cheat meals on Saturday night when I was out for a birthday party so didn’t want to double up again.
Otherwise I knew that I’d regret it and be paying for it today.
How many of us have been in that situation before, especially me and it felt good to be able to get one up on the temptation that we all can give into.
So the big tip is when you’re eating out, there are always plenty of healthy meals that you can choose from.
Sometimes you may even need to just choose the best of a bad bunch. It’s still a victory though and one worth celebrating.
The motivation words I’ve got for you today come from a living legend, Michael Jordan.
I’ve been loving the NBA finals lately and Jordan’s old Bulls went down valiantly yesterday in game 7 against heavy favourites Boston so I wanted to be timely and use some of Air Jordans finest words:
“My whole life, that’s been the kind of thing that has driven me. You tell me that I can’t do something, and I’m going to do it”
I love it.
How many times has someone told you that you can’t do anything?
I’m going to be like Mike and say Stuff Em.
Prove them wrong.
I dare you!
