Secret Healthy Eating Tips That No One Knows

I was making dinner the other night and stumbled across one of the best kept healthy eating tips of all time.

I found a secret food that is packed in protein – and not a food that you would normally associate with having a bit of a protein quality.

Perfect for those looking to eat healthy meals and make smart food choices.

To tell you the truth I nearly fell off my chair when I found out how powerful this food is when it comes to getting some extra protein in your diet and, if you’re like me, without even realising how good it was.

So what’s the food I’m talking about?

It is a natural food so that’s the first plus.

It’s green, so it has a lot of nutrients in it. You can be assured of that.

And yes, it has 6 grams of protein per 100 grams.

Sure it’s no super protein food compared to turkey or chicken but it’s comparable to chick peas and kidney beans and their varieties which only have between 7-8 grams of protein per serve so it gives the vegetarians another great alternative to their no meat routine.

C’mon Daniel, spill the beans…

Well it ain’t beans my friend but the secret ingredients is PEAS!

Yes, good old green peas.

Maybe I’m a bit behind the times but I never thought that peas would have such as powerful protein punch.

I know that when I am cooking in the future I will be sure to be using these more than I used to.

I sort of used to view peas as an afterthought. If the crisper in the fridge didn’t have much veggies left, I’d head to the freezer and grab the peas.

Not anymore though.

They’ve been bumped up the veggies list in my view.

How about yours?

Do you have any other secret foods that I should know about that pack a powerful protein punch? If so, I’d love to hear about em in the comments section below.

Believe it or not, peas are a high packed protein food

Hi Daniel,
on Rylan’s detox diet, peas are a banned item (i think due to sugar content?). do you have any thoughts on that? i LOVE peas (guilty pleasure), but i’ve been doing great on the detox plan so haven’t been having them…

Hey Mimi,
peas won’t kill you and if that’s a guilty pleasure i wouldn’t feel too bad in eating them. However, if you’ve been going great on the detox stick to it but remember the detox is not a permanent thing so you can go back to having them.
