If you’re Australian you’ll no doubt know that on the weekend a 16 year old girl sailed into Sydney Harbour after spending 7 months in a little yacht sailing solo around the world.
If you are not from our shores google the name Jessica Watson or check out this Jessica Watson interview from 60 Minutes last night to help you comprehend what she has accomplished at such a young age.
Now it’s easy to rave on about how great she is and so on but she did say something in her welcome home speech on Saturday that really made sense to me, and hopefully to everyone else who was watching at the time, read it in the paper since, or just reading it on here for the first time.

The best thing is it confirms in my mind that what I want with my life, and hopefully what you want with your life, isn’t as far away as you may always think.
So, what where these words of wisdom?
“You don’t have to be someone special to achieve something amazing. You’ve just got to have a dream, believe in it and work hard”.
Pretty profound words coming from someone so young.
The beauty of her achievement, and of her words is that Jessica proved that all the self limiting beliefs and thoughts we all place on ourselves are just rubbish.
It confirms in my mind, that I can achieve my goals that I set out to do and I hope it does so for you too.
And for the knockers that want to begrudge her of all the opportunities and dollars that will come her way after this – get a hobby and stop trying to drag someone who has made good down.
