My first tip to you – is go and see The Hangover if you haven’t already. I saw it yesterday and I was in stitches the whole movie!

It is seriously the best comedy I have seen in a long time and a perfect pick me up if you need a laugh or a bit of stress release. It’s not the movie to see if you’re looking to feel enriched afterwards but hey it’s good to zone out every now and then and just enjoy a fun movie right?
Getting back on track, today’s words of motivation come from Thomas Edison, a man who needs no introduction.
What Thomas has to say is pretty approrpriate when you realise that according to legend, he failed 9999 times before inventing the light bulb. The man never gave up. Key learning point yeah?
“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”
This is so true.
How many people who are looking to experience fat loss results give up after reaching a plateau or from banging their head against a brick wall by doing a program that is totally wrong for them?
Too many to mention.
Otherwise we wouldn’t have an obesity epidemic right now around the world.
Then there are the people who make themselves a success by putting into action the healthy eating tips or workout advice that I have given them over the years.
So this is where I want to hear from you and I’m going to be asking for a favour if that’s cool.
BUT I’ll make sure I’ll reward you for doing so!
I get a big kick out of reading your responses on my blog, or comments in person when I hear how I’ve been able to help you out.
I would really love to hear from you on here if you have benefited from any of the advice or training programs that I’ve given you over the years.
Whether it’s been training in person with me over at DPM Performance, or whether it’s through my Aussie Fatblast program or even from the tips I give out for nothing on my Home Workout Exercises membership website.
I would really love to hear from you if you’ve dropped dress sizes, got back in your skinny jeans, shed the inches from your beer belly, modified your diet from one simple tip (and seen great results) or just helped you have more energy to play with your kids. Whatever it is, I’d love to hear from you!
What Am I Giving You In Return?
Simple – everyone that submits a message will get a free gift from me – an audio panel mp3 interview that I was a part of where me, along with some of the best fitness pros in the game, gave our favourite exercises for each body part. It’s an hour long and has some pretty cool exercises for you to try out.
So if you’d like to know what BJ Gaddour and Ben Warstler among others think you should be doing you need to post a comment in the comments section under this post.
And for the person who posts the best answer I’m going to give you an extra bonus
* I’ll give you a free phone call (up to 60 minutes) where we can discuss how to optimise your training further and continue your progress to the next level.
If I get to 10 posts I’ll throw in an extra call. 15 posts and another one goes so your odds get better the more posts I get. And so on for every increment of 5.
The only catch is there must be at least 5 posts for the call to be prize to be valid. Everyone will get the mp3 regardless – just make sure you put your email address in your comments post.
Don’t worry though coz no one can see it on the blog.
But wait, it gets even better
And to sweeten the pot for you if you make a video of your success story – either use a flip cam or your webcam.
If you train with me let me know you’re happy to provide one and we can do it next time we train on my flipcam.
I’ll personally give you an individual 6 week program that you can follow where I’ll coach you like one of my Net-Training clients.
You’ll get weekly food diary reviews and tips, weekly email from me to keep you accountable and not to mention the program for you to do when you are not doing one of my sessions. Perfect if you’re on the other side of the world!
So fire away. I can’t wait to hear how I’ve helped you out.
It’ll really make my day!

Hi Dan,
Actually, I don’t usually comment (as you would know) but since you asked so nicely…..
I really like the quote. I have missed the quotes you used to post. You always found something obscure, but quite profound and very helpful and something that related to ones day to day life.
I have always enjoyed the training sessions I have taken with you. It has been over 3 years now that we have trained together, and over this time I can definately see a difference to my fitness level. Whilst I cannot say I dropped a dress size, I can say that my body shape has changed and has “toned up”. I have also noticed that you have increased the training sessions and they are still (after all this time) quite demanding.
My eating habits have usually always been good. I do know what I should be eating, it’s just a matter of putting the knowledge into practice, and every now and then I enjoy a “bad” food or a glass of wine. One important piece of information you did give me what on the low fat/no fat foods. i.e. stay away from them especially the dairy products. I took on board that piece of wisdom from you, about 18months ago, and have enjoyed full fat/cream milk, chees and yogurt ever since and do believe I am much healthier for it.
Well done on your commitment to us, and thank you for all your help over the years
I have enjoyed the tips I have received. I especially liked the workout on how to get Michelle Obama’s arms. I also liked the tips on the yogurts. I am gradually shedding the pounds and look forward to your emails.

Hi Dan,
Here’s how your boxing sessions assisted me last year;
• The ability to train harder, less frequently. I was able to cut down from 5 cardio sessions per week to 2 boxing/1 cardio and get better results than before
• Improved muscle tone particularly in the arms
• Training complemented other areas ie. boxing sessions improved my performance at touch football and attacking hills while running
This is how my current training sessions with you have helped;
• Your food diary has put my eating habits back on track. It was a good wake up call.
• Improved technique eg. when doing squats, dead lifts etc.
• The exercises can be done at home or in the park rather than just at the gym, which means I’m more likely to maintain the regime
Overall, I attend your classes because the compound exercises give a good ‘total body’ work out and teach me how to work harder rather than longer. Tips on healthy eating and your motivational blogs are also a big factor. I don’t have any ‘wow’ stats for you right now – but ask again in 5 weeks
Well until Stella mentioned it, I hadn’t realised the quotes had stopped, + 2 for bringing the inspirational/motivational/obscure quotes back – they are great for making you stop & think ….
Keep that energy up – you doing mostly good stuff here ….
I have learnt the importance of warming up and cooling down, even when I’m just exercising at home by myself. I always did it properly when I played sport, but not just a session at home. I dont know why, but I didnt. Now I do, and no more injuries!!!

Hi Dan!
I just got the latest email and off I went to check out this post.
First off, thanks for the quote today, it is just what I needed!
Second, I really want someone to win and the bonuses sound great, so I’m happy to leave feedback.
I’m a ballet dancer way off in Canada and I take my fitness to heart; my body is my instrument and the more I learn about what it really wants to look and feel the best that it can, the more I enjoy my life and my work.
I think your tips are some of the easiest to understand and have the sort of energy behind them that make you curious and excited about applying them. I’m really looking forward to the free gift because I want to rev up my cross-training routine (usually I just went for nutrition tips, but I realize I’ve hit a wall and need to take it a step further and get moving. Ballet is movement but I’m designed to do that. It really is important to become an active PERSON and not just a dancer by default!).
Thank you for your bright and generous spirit!!!
thanks Jan, glad you liked! I’ll be in touch with your special mp3 and thankyou for your feedback – it’s always appreciated!

Hi Daniel,
The best tip i got from you was regarding how much time i was wasting doing regular crunch exercises. Your youtube demo of the exercise where you have your feet on a bench & arms in the push up position & then rotate from side was awesome. That exercise kicks butt & when people see me doing it at the gym, they’re like, “OMG, that looks so effective!” But do they get down & do it?? NOPE!! They’re back at it w/the crunches again… oy. I haven’t done a single crunch since & combining your “abs” tip w/Rylan’s go sleevless program, i have seen significant body changes & managed to win his Round 1 competition!! You guys need to write a book together!! I love your high-energy, positive approach & free advice. Your before & after pics are very inspirational too, although you should be smiling bigger in your after photo (;-D). Thank you!!
Ok, it was tough to choose a winner for the free call but I’m going to have to say Clare in a photo finish. I’ll be in touch Clare to organise your call! Thanks to everyone for commenting and if there’s some more posts on here (not including mine) that take it over 10 then I’ll award another call
Congratulations Clare!! You totally nailed it w/the working smarter vs. longer comment. That advice is so valuable & it’s so true. Working shorter, more intense workouts w/constant intervals, is really paying off.
Let us know what you learn from your call!
